2022 Spring Conference!

In the ever-changing climate of the pandemic, we need each other more than ever. This virus has pushed us to pivot from face-to-face instruction as we once knew it in ways that we never thought possible. Even though this may have caused much anxiety and frustration, it has surely taught us so much about how learning can look. This spring, we will come together at Berea College to share conference sessions on the English Language Arts instructional practices we have adapted, improved, and even tried for the first time that has worked for us and our students, ages K – Adult. Together, we are better. The conference will take place on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 6 PM – 8 PM, and Saturday, March 19, 2022, from 9 AM – 4 PM. Up to eight hours of professional learning can be completed at the conference. Register now to get your spot!

2021 Fall Conference

This fall, we are offering our first ever Virtual Literacy Conference on Edmodo. This will function like a course in which you can engage synchronously for live sessions, including keynotes, KED Talks (like a TED Talk from KY Educators), and facilitated discussions, or asynchronously as your schedule allows. We will offer two strands: Best Practices in Online Learning & Culturally Responsive Teaching with sessions from energized, innovative practitioners and experts in literacy education and provide practical resources for attendees to take back to your Professional Learning Communities. Be sure to register for the event so we can begin adding participants to the Edmodo community. Current KCTE members will receive SIGNIFICANT discounts. We hope to see you there! The confirmed sessions are updated in real-time here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Wyy6h1Mug_0RFXww3SzdjFGpaT864RmIwcrdGXdby_s/edit?usp=sharing
